Landi Renzo SpA acquires 49% of the share capital of Metatron SpA

Landi Renzo SpA completed the acquisition of 49% of the share capital of Metatron SpA, (‘ITG’), current majority shareholder of Metatron, from Italy Technology Group Srl. Metatron is based in Castel Maggiore (BO) and is an international leader in alternative fuel solutions for the Mid&Heavy Duty sector . This acquisition is part of a broader transaction, also aiming to acquire the remaining 51% of Metatron’s share capital from ITG and the other existing shareholders, with completion expected by 30 November 2021, allowing Landi Renzo to acquire 100% of Metatron.

Landi Renzo is a world leader in CNG, LNG, Hydrogen and LPG automotive components and systems. Based in Cavriago (Reggio Emilia) and with over 60 years experience in the sector, the company is characterised by the international nature of its business, which is reflected in its presence in over 50 countries, with a percentage of sales generated abroad of around 80%. Landi Renzo SpA has been listed on the STAR segment of the Electronic Stock Exchange (MTA) market of Borsa Italiana since June 2007.

The acquisition of Metatron is a strategic operation for the Landi Renzo Group, which can thus further consolidate its presence in the Mid&Heavy Duty sector. This sector is one of the most involved in alternative fuels such as hydrogen, natural gas, biomethane and LNG, with volumes expected to grow strongly in the coming years.

The transaction confirms the role of Banca Akros as a reference partner in the mid-market segment in Italy.
